The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X is a 16-core, 32-thread Zen 5 processor rated up to 5.7 GHz boost. Your plan receives a virtual allocation on that host; it is not exclusive ownership of all sixteen cores.
Game server VPS
Game server hosting in India on high-frequency VPS
A game server runs a tick loop. The loop has to finish inside its budget, and it is usually one thread doing that work. Core count barely helps. Host clock speed and memory latency are what move the number.
Sizing
Three honest starting points.
Pick the row that describes what you have now, not what you hope to have in a year. Moving up a tier later is easier than paying for headroom you never use.
| If you are running | Start at | Specification | Monthly | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A Minecraft server for friends, 10-20 players 4 vCPU on a 9950X host with 16 GB DDR5. | 9950X VPS 16 | 4 vCPU / 16 GB DDR5 / 64 GB NVMe | ₹2,399 | Deploy |
| A modded server or a small community Mods and plugins are what consume memory, not player count alone. | 9950X VPS 32 | 6 vCPU / 32 GB DDR5 / 128 GB NVMe | ₹4,799 | Deploy |
| Several instances or a large community Run instances on separate ports with their own memory ceilings. | 9950X VPS 48 | 8 vCPU / 48 GB DDR5 / 192 GB NVMe | ₹7,199 | Deploy |
Worth knowing first
Three things most pages about this leave out.
Doubling vCPU on a single-threaded tick loop changes almost nothing. This is the clearest case in hosting where the cheaper-looking larger plan is the wrong purchase.
Players in Bangalore or Chennai connecting to a Mumbai node see roughly 25-40 ms of transit. For most games that is fine; for a competitive shooter, test it first.
Setup checklist
Do these on day one.
- Choose the node closest to most of your players, not to you.
- Set an explicit JVM heap ceiling; do not let it take the whole box.
- Keep world and configuration backups off the server.
- Measure tick time, not CPU percentage, when deciding to upgrade.

Common questions
Game server VPS, answered.
Which VPS is best for a Minecraft server in India?
The Ryzen 9 9950X range. Minecraft's main loop is single-threaded, so host clock speed and memory latency determine tick stability far more than core count. The 4 vCPU / 16 GB DDR5 plan at Rs 2,399 per month suits a community of roughly 10 to 20 players on vanilla or lightly modded worlds.
Why not just buy more vCPU?
Because the bottleneck is one thread finishing its work inside the tick budget. Extra cores help background tasks such as chunk generation and world saving, but they do not shorten the critical path. A faster core does.
Where will players connect from?
Choose the node closest to the majority of your players. Mumbai serves western, southern and most of central India well. Noida is better for a mainly north-Indian community.
Is DDoS protection included for game servers?
The network is positioned behind a Cloudflare-backed protected edge, but the exact mitigation scope, whether it is always-on or on-demand, and which protocols are covered must be confirmed for your specific plan before you order. Game servers attract attacks, so this is worth asking explicitly rather than assuming.
